Nature

There is a wealth of sites and National Parks in Tunisia, rich in flora and fauna. Ichkeul National Park by Bizerte is a stopping place for hundreds of thousands of migrating birds, such as ducks, geese, storks and flamingos. Bou Hedma National Park south of Sidi Bouzid, with its unique woodland ecosystem, supports such animals as Oryx, genet and Dorcas gazelles, and birds such as golden eagles, falcons, nightjars, shrikes and wheatears. The Thyna Salt Pans south of Sfax are home to a multitude of water birds, including spoonbills, flamingos, cranes and terns.
